The EE Rising Star Award at the EE British Academy Film Awards is the only award that you, the public, can vote for. It recognizes a performer who has demonstrated exceptional talent on the big screen over the past year and caught the attention of the industry and the public.

Lashana Lynch is the winner of the EE Rising Star Award 2022. She is rapidly establishing herself as an international actor. She showcases a variety of disciplines across television, film and stage. She was the first woman and first woman of color to continue the legacy of 007, in 2021. Her standout role of “Nomi”, Cary Joji Fukunaga’s No Time To Die alongside Rami Malek and Daniel Craig, made history. She is currently filming the historical epic The Woman King in South Africa.
